What do you guys think about Trump? I've heard a lot in the news about him and all of his comments and assorted scandals, but what do we as Political Science majors make of all this?
Usually I don't compare anybody to Hitler, but Trump's proposed policies and much of his rhetoric sounds a lot like what Hitler used to get elected. Again, I'm not saying he's Hitler, just drawing comparisons and asking what you think. Why hasn't Trump fallen out of the race yet? Wasn't he supposed to be a small blip on the radar awhile ago?

I would take a look at my most recent blog post. I attended his event with my "political scientist" hat on and was intrigued by the event as a whole. I think despite the "circus" atmosphere of the primary, Trump has real support and a lot of people behind his campaign.
As I also mentioned on Connor's post, the fact about Trump is that every time there is an article talking about his crazy antics, it creates interest within the general public and people are more inclined to attend his events, just because they want to see what he is really like. I also think that he can be a very persuasive speaker, and the supporters that he attracts are usually those who have remained out of politics for a number of years, but they feel that they can relate to Trump with his harsh and brutal personality.
Trump is what everyone wants to talk about and is on the media daily saying something that stirs the pot. So yes I do believe he is a relevant candidate which scares me because I do not believe that he is the right person to lead the country. He has good qualities but I believe he is just to extreme with his foreign affairs and immigration opinions. It is hard to take them seriously .
