1 Year After Bin Ladens Death
With the 1 year anniversary of the death of Osama Bin Laden coming up The Obama campaign has been (according to this article) using is as a way to gain popularity with voters. In a video released by the White House President Obama gave an interview in the Situation Room about his decision to send special forces. The video aslo questioned whether Romney would have done the same thing. Critics of the president are saying that is was inappropriate to use the Situation Room as the location for the interview and Senator John McCain said that Obama was “turning the one decision he got right into a pathetic, political act of self-congratulation...Shame on Barack Obama for diminishing the memory of September 11th and the killing of Osama bin Laden by turning it into a cheap political attack ad.” He was also criticized for using his "celebrity" by going on late night talk shows and it was said that american elected the "biggest celebrity in the world...But after four years of a celebrity president, is your life any better?”

Interesting article choice. I think despite the debate over who did what right vs wrong, it is amazing to think that it has been a year since Osama Bin Laden was killed. In post-9/11 America, I'm sure many citizens are proud.
P.S. What article are you referring to?
Republicans are accusing President Obama of using Osama bin Laden's death for his campaign. The President’s decision to carry out an attack on bin Laden is his most public success since he has been in office because of the positive media it received. I believe that it is only natural that the President use this American victory to his benefit entering the election, he was in office and gave permission to carry out this attack which ended up killing the most wanted man in the world. If a republican was in office and facing a tough and crucial election, he too would be using every positive accomplishment to their advantage. I agree with republicans that President Obama uses his “celebrity” and loves being the center of attention. I believe his cool and young public perception has won him a lot of voters. If the republicans want the presidency they better prove why every Americans life has gotten worse while President Obama has been in office because they have not fielded a candidate that can compete with Obama as a likeable public figure.
I totally agree with Nick here, I don't have a problem with Obama celebrating the death of Bin Laden. It is something that Bush, and Clinton, both failed to do and deserves praise. As far as saying the Romney would not have been able to carry out the mission, I don't think that it is a warranted statement, but it doesn't surprise, or upset me. The election process can get dirty, and the Obama Administration isn't going to sit back and hope that this election will be any different. when Romney gets the opportunity, he will take his shots at Obama. It's up to us, the citizens to decide what we believe and make our decision base on the facts.
